From the Artist: My burn and carve method connects me to the character of the wood itself, where images emerge from the grain and are not forced upon it. It taps into an often bygone, simpler time: when loving, handcrafted care went into every human endeavor. If wood is taken from the earth, it will receive due reverence as it's transformed into a unique entity that can be passed down through generations.
I'd like to allow folks a chance to infuse their instruments with their own spirit, and work with me to realize a design of their own - be it with a personal theme I can work into the wood or through existing images to be used for inspiration.
